The Human Rights and Governance Centre (HRGC) has made an earnest request to the Ghana Police Service to protect and improve the conditions of service of the police.

In a press statement released by the Director of the HRGC, Mr. Martin Kpedbu, he addressed the issue of the recent gruesome killing of two police officers at Budumburam, Kasoa, in the Central Region and the police shooting of a young man who allegedly attacked the police with a machete in Akyem Kwabeng.

"We do not need a timid Police Service, and it is imperative we work to ensure that our officers feel safe, confident and emotionally stable as they discharge their duty of protecting life and property and maintaining law and order".

The statement also commended the Ghana Police Service for acting swiftly to bring the perpetrators of the unjust police killing in Budumburam, Kasoa to book, and implores them to ensure that justice is served to the bereaved families of the murdered police officers.

The HRGC is an organization that works to ensure that democracy in governance and human rights are observed and upheld in the country.
