Communications Team member of the Movement for Change, Solomon Owusu, has raised concerns about the integrity of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) indicating that their ways of doing things recently do not speak well of them.

Mr. Owusu who asserts that the army was known for its highly disciplinary tag among the security agencies in the country has resorted to doing the direct opposite and raising questions about their integrity.

Discussing Ghana’s failed attempt in the fight against illegal mining also known as galamsey, the Movement For Change communicator said the military cannot be left out of the conversation.

According to him, the military has been comprised of government officials involved in the galamsey practice which makes them indiscipline

“They [military] have been compromised, do you think that if we had a disciplined military force, government officials and other individuals practising the illegal mining could have been bold in destroying our lands?

He said it is because “they are weak and also compromised. They are also lazy to that effect.”

“The police and military have failed us woefully in the galamsey fight. Whether the country collapsed or not it depends on our military and police agencies,” he stressed.
