Ministry for Gender, Children and Social Protection spearheaded by Nana Oye Lithur has finally closed down the Bonyanse Witch Camp and other witch camps in the Northern Region of Ghana and provided appropriate remedy for the Alleged witches.
The Human Rights activist disclosed via her twitter platform that, the inmates of the said camp have been integrated into their various communities and been provided with support under the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme and the Local Enterprise Skills Development Programme (LESDEP).
According to Oye Lithur, a tally of 751 alleged witches and 405 leprosaria were covered under the LEAP fund.
The female Minister has been very effective and doing implausibly great at protecting the rights of vulnerable groups in Ghana in her term of office.
