The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John, delivered a consistent and passionate message to members of the NPP-USA and the Ghanaian community who listened to him in several US cities during his short visit.

After a well-delivered speech, usually interspersed with nuggets of traditional wisdom and doses of biblical quotations, Sir John emphasized that the NPP has clear and incontrovertible evidence at the Supreme Court, a statement issued by Public Relations Committee–NPP-USA said.

He was hopeful the Supreme Court justices would deliver a verdict predicated on the evidence given and that justice would bring peace and prosperity to Ghana.

Mr. Owusu Afriyie arrived in the USA on July 20 for a short private visit in Dallas Texas, but used the opportunity to interact with party members.

He generously offered to visit a few of the many NPP-USA chapters.

Given the limited time of his stay and the enthusiasm with which members of the branch welcomed him, Nana Agyei Yeboah, Chairman of NPP-USA put together a hectic six-city tour for the NPP chief.

Sir John’s first stop from Dallas was Denver, Colorado where he mesmerized a church congregation with his sermon and thrilled the Ghanaian community with facts and legal knowledge about NPP’s electoral petition before the Supreme Court.

From Denver, he flew to Minneapolis, Minnesota. From Minnesota, he flew to Atlanta, Georgia from Atlanta to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Mr. Owusu Afriyie explained the party’s case to the people and stressed that NPP had presented clear and incontrovertible evidence to the Supreme Court in Ghana to the people.

On August 3, 2013, Sir John took his message of hope and goodwill to the North Eastern part of the USA.

His first stop was in Hartford, Connecticut (The Constitution State).

In Hartford, the General Secretary affirmed his faith in the Supreme Court justices to uphold the supremacy of Ghana’s constitution and assured the Ghanaian community of NPP’s unimpeachable evidence.

As if he was saving the best for the last, Sir John stormed the Big Apple, New York City on August 6, 2013 with his message to the NPP faithful and the Ghanaian community.

“We have clear and incontrovertible evidence,” he emphasized.

The Ghanaian communities Sir John visited also gave him an unambiguous message to be given to the esteemed judges that Ghana’s judiciary was also on trial, and the whole world was watching.

“Whether our fledgling democracy will flourish and lead Ghana and Africa into prosperity or plunge our nation into chaos, entrench mediocrity and corruption, will depend on the courage of our judges to deliver a verdict based on evidence that will ensure peace and justice,” they said.
