The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication (GIFEC), Dr. Tanko Rashid-Computer, has issued a caution to former government appointees implicated in alleged corrupt practices who have fled the country.

According to him, the ill-gotten wealth and looted funds amassed by such individuals will be retrieved, as the government and its security agencies are aware of where they are hiding their bounties and looted state resources.

“ORAL is uncovering lots of loot and very soon people are going to be hot. It will be long because we are not going to leave even a penny for anybody. If you run we know where your properties are and I’m happy the president said they should start freezing their accounts and take hold of their properties,” he stated.

Speaking on TV3 on Monday, March 3, 2025, Rashid-Computer disclosed that the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) committee had uncovered numerous corrupt activities by some former officials.

He stated that the government would soon take action to hold these individuals accountable and ensure they face the consequences of their actions.

Rashid-Computer further emphasised the government’s commitment and dedication to holding former officials accountable for their actions.

He assured that the government is ready to go as far as collaborating with Interpol to apprehend individuals who have fled the country.

“All those running away we will get them even if it means we must talk to Interpol to fish them out for us, we will extend that courtesy that is accruing for a state government to look for them,” he added.

Meanwhile, former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Gifty Oware-Mensah, a member of the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has returned to Ghana after a brief time away from the country.

Oware-Mensah, who previously served under the Akufo-Addo government, has remained out of the public eye since the 2024 general elections.

Amid allegations linking her to the NSS payroll scandal, reports suggested she had fled to evade accountability.

However, in a statement on Friday, February 28, 2025, her legal team, Sarkodie Baffour Awuah, and Partners, clarified that she had simply taken a post-election break.

A video circulating on social media shows Oware-Mensah at Kotoka International Airport, where she was welcomed by friends and family, confirming her return to the country.

According to reports, she is set to present herself to the National Investigation Bureau (NIB) for questioning.
