We’ll not vote in 2020 if you fail to fix our roads - Chief to MP

The Chief of Dego, a traditional area at Mentukwa, Nana Ntim Jakari in the Eastern Region has threatened that he will personally lead a campaign to stop his subjects from voting in 2020 over the poor nature of their roads.

Speaking on Ghana Kasa on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said the Member of Parliament (MP) O.B Amoah has not stepped foot in the area since he won the parliamentary seat.

He told host Uncle Bright that the MP promised to have their poor roads fixed, but he has neglected them after winning the seat.

The traditional ruler said vehicles are unable to use the roads due to their poor nature, a situation he said has forced them to use motorbikes to send pregnant women to the hospital.

He said cars have to drop residents at Dego, so they walk to Mentukwa or hire motorbikes.

”O.B is our MP, but we have not set our eyes on him since he won the seat. If he fails t5o repair our roads and give us an electrification project, we will not vote in the 2020 elections.

He further disclosed the situation has deprived farmers the opportunity to transport their farm produce to the various markets for sale.

He appealed to authorities to with immediate effect repair their poor roads because they are part of Ghana.

”We are Ghanaians and citizens of Ghana. The failure to repair our roads has cut us off from the country. We want the roads repaired. O.B Amoah is waiting for 2020, so he will come and campaign. We will not entertain that if the government fail to repair the roads,” he stressed.
