Archbishop Kwofie with CAMP-G Members
Catholic Association of Media Practitioners-Ghana (CAMP-G) has pledged their support to promote the activities and projects of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev John Bonaventure Kwofie.
According to the group, they will do everything within their influence to make the voice of the Catholic Church heard in Ghana.
The group paid a courtesy call on the Archbishop to congratulate him for his appointment and installation as the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra.
In their congratulatory message signed by its president Mrs Victoria Lugey, the group stated that his appointment is to buttress his love for humanity especially the poor and vulnerable in society in the realm of evangelisation and also his desire to continue the good works of his predecessors.
“It is our prayer that the Christs faithful in Accra would offer you the needed support and assistance to champion the Evangelisation mission of the Church. As we did for your predecessors, we the members of CAMP-G are ever ready to align ourselves to promote your activities and projects within the Archdiocese of Accra,” the statement reads.
CAMP-G further assured Archbishop Kwofie that the Christs faithful in Accra would offer him the needed support and assistance to champion the Evangelisation mission of the Church.

The Catholic Association of Media Practitioners-Ghana (CAMP-G) is a network of Catholic professionals in various areas of communications in the country print, electronic, information technology, public relations, Advertising, publishing, film production, press photography, academia.
CAMP-G was established in 2003 to replace the Guild of Catholic Journalists. The change in name was to open the door to the participation of all Catholics in the Media under one umbrella to protect and defend the Church in Ghana.
The formation of CAMP-G was inspired by the recommendations of the Second Vatican Council Decree which urges the laity to play a prominent role in the affairs of the Catholic Church. It was also inspired by the role Social Communications plays as an effective tool in the propagation of the faith, through the Decree on the Instruments of Social Communications (Inter Mirifica). The formation was also guided by Chapter 12 from Articles 162 to 173 of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana.
