A Former National Youth Organizer of the People’s National Convention (PNC) who sued the Electoral Commission (EC) over the credibility of the voters’ register, Abu Ramadan says he will together with his team of Lawyers make sure they peruse the full lists of NHIS registrants the election management body is supposed to submit to the Supreme court.

The Supreme court on Thursday, June 23 gave the EC a six-day ultimatum to submit to it, a complete list of all Ghanaians, who used NHIS cards to register as eligible voters in 2012.

The Supreme Court’s latest order follows the plaintiff, Abu Ramadan’s action to seek clarity on the court’s May 5 ruling in an earlier case he’d filed at the same court over the credibility of the 2012 register of voters.

Ramadan said he’ll make sure he follows with a keen eye how the EC undertakes such exercise after the EC’s lackadaisical attitude exhibited in the cleaning of what he describes as a draught document.

“It’s a laborious exercise and we’re going to scrutinize them- It shouldn’t be that they’re compelled to do it so they can afford to do it anyhow. They should treat this exercise with the seriousness it deserves and the proof so that we can have peaceful elections,” he told Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Si Me So on Kasapa 102.5 FM.

Ramadan, however, said he’s waiting for the EC to fully meet the orders of the court by July 29, so he can take the necessary steps afterwards.
