The Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Prof Opoku Onyinah has observed that Ghana can win its war against corruption if God-fearing persons take up political leadership.

He disclosed that persons may profess to be religious but if they do not have the fear of God in them they will continue and fuel the circle of corruption that does not inure to the benefit of the country and citizenry stating that politics generally in Ghana has been that of a complex one.

Speaking with Gideon Kofi Adarkwa of Radio Tamale on Absolute News, the Man of God said it is for this reason the church has established “The Youth Political Chamber” to imbibe in the younger ones the fear of God aimed at mentoring them to make a change in the political landscape.

“It is difficult but that does not mean it is impossible. We need people who can make that change in the system with God fear people who understand the values and pursue justice and ensure the right things are done”, he stated.

Apostle Prof Opoku Onyinah said the move is to ensure that politics is clean devoid of the vices and the excesses that are in variance with the teachings of God.

“We are targeting the youth because they are coming up and we must train them and equip them to emancipate the country from corrupt leadership”, he added.

The Youth Political Chamber’, is a platform under the auspices of the Youth Ministry of the church. It is to mentor young politicians to have political mindset of Biblical Daniel and Esther, two key players in the court of prominent kings in the Bible.

The program was under the theme: “Towards International Birthing of a Band of ‘Daniels’ and ‘Esthers’ for Ghana, Africa and The World.”

The Political Chamber targets members of the Church and all Ghanaians who are ready to subscribe to its ideals and values and are 35 years or below.

The Youth Political Chamber is to convene twice a year for a residential school to go through lectures and more importantly, to have the opportunity to relate with seasoned political figures who shall be invited to interact with members of the chamber.

The Chairman of the church explained that the platform will “rally incorruptible politicians to groom the youth to be honest and diligent leaders”.

Members of the chamber shall be directly encouraged and supported to pursue their political careers without coloring the chamber with any political party affiliations.
