Andy Appiah-Kubi is the lawyer for Bernard Antwi Boasiako
Lawyer for Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has appealed to supporters to keep his client in prayers as he faces multiple criminal cases before the courts.
Speaking to journalists at the Accra High Court ahead of proceedings involving two of the three active criminal cases against Chairman Wontumi, his lawyer, Andy Appiah-Kubi, said the legal team has been working tirelessly to defend him.
In a video shared by 1957 News on X on May 19, 2026, Appiah-Kubi acknowledged the pressure surrounding the cases and urged party supporters to continue praying for his client as the legal battle unfolds.
“The only thing is that we need prayers. We have been working hard on these three cases. This case of Exim Bank has been adjusted for a month to allow the prosecution to prepare the document,” he said.
The lawyer explained that one of the cases involving the EXIM Bank had been adjourned for about a month to allow prosecutors time to prepare and disclose documents intended to support their case.
Chairman Wontumi, a prominent figure within the NPP, is currently facing several legal challenges, attracting widespread political attention and sparking reactions from supporters of both major political parties.
Despite the ongoing cases, Appiah-Kubi indicated that the defence team remains focused and committed to ensuring that due process is followed throughout the proceedings.
