The Ashanti regional campaign team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has indicated that they owe no supporter apologies for failing to deliver victory to the party.

The team headed by Deputy Regional Minister Andy Osei Okrah was tasked to deliver 1 million presidential votes and 13 parliamentary seats for the party.

It however failed to gain forty percent (40%0 of the target and lost two of its four seats held in the region. Angry party supporters, who locked up some party offices, are demanding that the campaign team takes the fall for the party’s defeat. But a member of the team and Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly Nurudeen Hamidan disagrees and insists the party failed as a unit and must take stock of its failure together.

“We are all members of the party and went into an election and lost. We must therefore share the blame and work together to resolve the cause of the defeat. If they want us to apologise because we lost who should we apologize to. The party is not a human being so I will take this opportunity to advise our people to be careful. Elections come with two results, you either win or lose”, he said.

In a related development, Out-going deputy minister for the interior and also MP for Builsa North James Agalga says the incoming government should expect to be put on their toes by the minority in parliament when the new session begins.

Speaking to Ultimate news, Mr Agalga made it clear that, the NDC in opposition will ensure that the Nana Addo’s government is reminded of it promises to the masses which gave them the mandate.

According to him, they will not be a silent minority but a vociferous one which will push for the right things to be done.
