Some voters in the Akuapem North Constituency have disclosed that although they received financial inducements from the New Patriotic Party's parliamentary candidate, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, they did not vote for her.
In a video shared on X by a user named Big Alvin, some voters can be heard chanting, "We spent Dokua's money, but we didn’t vote for her," as Dokua exited the collation center in the constituency.
Counting and results declaration are currently underway following the closure of polls across most of the polling centres in the country.
The 2024 elections was held across 276 constituencies in the country, with the process being largely peaceful. Pockets of violence have, however, been recorded, with one person confirmed dead in the Tolon Constituency in the Northern Region.
The EC has meanwhile urged Ghanaians and political parties to exercise patience as they execute their mandate of delivering a successful election.
