President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has underscored the successes chalked by his government after three years.

He attributed this to the “competent hands” managing the affairs of the country.

“Mr Speaker, we have a good story to tell in many areas,” he said in Parliament on Thursday.

President Akufo-Addo was delivering the state-of-the-nation message in fulfilment of Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution.

He concluded that the current state of the nation is in good health.

“Once moribund state enterprises have been revitalized,” he cited, listing many of these enterprises, which have “been given a new lease of life”.

“Digitisation has led to a remarkable improvement in the delivery of public service. We are all greatly relieved, for example, that the hustle is being removed for those who want to get passports. We are equally relieved that the DVLA offices are no longer the nightmare places to be and we can get driver’s license without having to go through ‘goro’ boys.”

He noted how the economy itself has been digitized and Ghana continuing to enjoy peace.

“We have done much more than we inherited. We are creating conditions for young people to have hope again and we are determined to do more,” President Akufo-Addo stressed.

“Things are working in Ghana and Ghana is surely changing.”

For him, these are as a result of prudent measures put in place by his government.

“We have sanitised the banking sector. Our industrial transformation is on. We are digitising the economy and Ghana continues to be at peace.”
