The Supreme Leader of the All People’s Congress (APC), Dr Hassan Ayariga has disclosed that members of his party will act as citizens and not spectators as admonished by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during his investiture.

At a press conference on Tuesday July 11, 2017 to outline the party’s activities for 2017 and beyond, he disclosed that they will be critical of the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government by showering praises when it is due and criticizes if it is the reverse.

“To our brothers and sisters in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) we want to remind them that wining an election is not the end of struggle, but just the beginning of hard work, collaboration, struggles, serious issues and unity. The battle of economic transformation and prosperity has just begun. They must bear in mind that the people of Ghana has entrusted the economy of

Ghana into their hands to continue from where the NDC left and to show their leadership style and confidence. It is not about who occupy which positions but it is about who is committed in doing the right thing without fear or favor”, he stated.

To this end, he called on the President to engage competent persons to steer the affairs of the country saying “to succeed as a President you must engage the best and right persons to serve the nation devoid of corruption, incompetence and beyond partisanship. To our fellow country men and women, the majority of Ghanaians have entrusted this country in to their hands. Change has come”

PRESS CONFERENCE BY DR. HASSAN AYARIGA FOUNDER AND LEADER OF THE ALL PEOPLE’S

CONGRESS (APC) ON THE 11th OF JULY 2017 ON THE WAY FORWARD

Mr. Chairman, National and Regional executive’s members of our party( APC ) the media, fellowcountry men and women, ladies and gentlemen. Good morning. This is our first media encounter after the 2016 general election. I am very sure many people have asked several Questions about the way forward of the APC and its leadership. We in the APC have moved on after the unjust disqualification of our Presidential Candidate in the last elections.

Till date, the Electoral commission have not given any reason why the APC presidential candidate was disqualified for the second time. We have also not received any letter or invitation from the EC after the 2016 general election. We shall write to the EC to demand clear reasons for the disqualification. This move by the leadership of the party will help control power abuse in our institutions.

This press conference today is to outline the party’s activities for the coming months and years and the way forward of our party. We are calling on all APC members across Ghana and beyond to start with the reorganization of the various party structures, right from the polling stations, constituencies to the regional level. We also want to remind the general Public that APC is a Liberal Socialist Party, and for that matter we are calling on people from various political parties to come and join us to re organize the party. All party offices shall be provided with membership forms and cards for your registration. Locate any of our offices across Ghana for your registration.

We shall embark on a nationwide tour to reintroduce the party in various regions, constituencies, schools and other institutions and as well form 20 executive members for every polling station in all the 29,000 polling stations starting from the second week of September, 2017 throughout October and November this year.

In the process we shall also issue membership cards of the party to new and old members, and as well capture detailed information of every party member in the party’s data base.Other Important committees shall be formed during this tour.

1.Council of elders.

2.Campaign team.

3.Communication team.

4.Youth wings executives.

5.Women wings executives and volunteers.

Ladies and gentlemen, Ghana’s hope Lies with the youth and APC, lets believe in the new generation. The only way to economic development and success is to make the youth the engine of growth. If you look around us today, what we need is each other. We need one another to transform the country irrespective of our political, religious, or tribal stand.

The APC believes in an all inclusive governance concept. We Believe that for any government to succeed it must adopt the all inclusive governance concept, and do away with the winner takes it all political syndrome.

We are therefore calling on various political leaders and parties to help in the campaign of an All inclusive governance concept. We in the APC are appealing to our brothers and sisters in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to move on as a party and stop the blame game of who caused or contributed in their defeat in the 2016 general elections. The party Leaders should reorganize themselves well and know that Ghana needs everyone on board in unity.

To our brothers and sisters in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) we want to remind them that wining an election is not the end of struggle, but just the beginning of hard work, collaboration, struggles, serious issues and unity. The battle of economic transformation and prosperity has just began. They must bear in mind that the people of Ghana has entrusted the economy of Ghana into their hands to continue from where the NDC left and to show their leadership style and confidence. It is not about who occupy which positions but it is about who is committed in doing the right thing without fear or favor. There is no excuse for ignorance.

Mr President. We definitely shall not be spectators but citizens. We will applaud when it is due and criticize when it is due, to prove our loyalty as good citizens and not spectators to the benefit of all Ghanaians. To succeed as a President you must engage the best and right persons to serve the nation devoid of corruption, incompetence and beyond partisanship. To our fellow country men and women, the majority of Ghanaians have entrusted this countryin to their hands. Change has come. The only way to change people is when you involve them in the process of change, for change to be effected. A lot has happened in the last seven months. I hope it is indeed time to witness that change.

Fellow country men and women, let’s give them all the necessary support to transform our country. Let’s pray so they succeed. The success of the current government shall be a good foundation for the Next Government which shall be All People’s Congress (APC )to easily transform the nation to a more better place to dwell in.

Finally we are calling on Ghanaians within the country and outside to join the APC train of new leadership. We believe in an all inclusive governance concept, the only way to transform our nation. Be a member and Ghana will be transformed. Ladies and gentlemen, once again thank you all for coming, may the Good Lord bless our country Ghana.

Thank you

Dr. Hassan Ayariga
