Evangelist Papa Shee, a close associate of the immediate family of the late Daddy Lumba, has indicated that the planned Celebration of Life event may shift focus from the deceased to his wife, Akosua Serwaa Fosu.

Speaking to the media after court proceedings at the Accra High Court on March 25, 2026, Papa Shee addressed uncertainty surrounding the event following the adjournment of an injunction case.

The case, which challenges the organisation of Daddy Lumba’s Celebration of Life event scheduled for March 28, 2026, has been adjourned to April 23, 2026. The development has cast doubt on whether the event will go ahead as originally planned.

When asked whether the family would proceed with the March 28 event despite the court’s decision, Papa Shee disclosed that the focus may instead be placed on Akosua Serwaa Fosu, the musician’s spouse.

“We will celebrate Akosua Serwaa Fosu. It is those who are alive who are to be celebrated,” Papa Shee said.

The situation follows tensions after Daddy Lumba’s funeral was held on December 13, 2025. In the aftermath, some immediate family members, led by his sister, Ernestina Fosu, together with Papa Shee, announced plans to organise a second event in his honour.

However, the announcement was met with opposition from the family head, Kofi Owusu, who filed an injunction at the Accra High Court to halt the event.
