Kumasi, Aug 13, GNA - The Ashanti regional branch of the NASARA Club of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has sent a message of congratulation to Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo on his election to lead the party to the battle for political power in 2012.
The Club pledged "to stand with him, every step of the way."
The group said his landslide victory in the party's historic presidential primaries was indicative of the level of confidence and massive support he enjoys.
A statement issued and signed by Alhaji Ali Musah Zingi, the Regional Coordinator, called on all members and supporters to rally solidly behind the flag-bearer to return the NPP to power.
It asked the party to take pride for the big success of its expanded national delegates' congress.
"The NPP as a political party, which cherishes and nurtures democratic governance has shown the way with the recent successful congress and all political parties in Africa and beyond should take a cue from this shinning example."
The statement also gave high marks to former President John Agyekum Kufuor for what it said was his powerful message of unity and reconciliation to the party, as he congratulated Nana Akufo-Addo.
It said the page on the presidential primaries should be closed and that all NPP supporters should get down to the serious business of working with unity of purpose to win over more voters, and ensure electoral victory in 2012.
