Presiding officer of Bethany Methodist polling station, Sydney Sarfo, has announced that electorates whose names appear twice in the voter's register won't be given the chance to exercise their franchise.

According to him, those who may sneak out to try their luck would be caught as passing through the voting process will fish them out.

A total of 562 voters are expected to vote at both centers A and B, to elect an assembly member for the area among the 4 candidates contesting.

In an interview with GhanaWeb, Mr. Sarfo stated that “we have two polling stations in one center which is the Bethany Methodist…we have four candidates that are running for the assembly and we have 562 running in the register so we are expecting a huge turnout for the day”.

“When you come and you go through the normal process, we will definitely find you in the multiple register and we will not allow you to vote,” he stressed.

Voting started at 7am and the entire process is going on smoothly at various centers - Dzorwulu South Center A and B, Dzorwulu JHS A, B and 2, among others.

The number of voters expected to turn up at Dzorwulu South Center A is 688 with Thomas Donkor as the presiding officer.

Center B is expecting a total of 640 voters with Christabel Johnson as its overseer.

For Dzorwulu JHS 2, a total of 300 electorates making them the center with the least number of voters.

JHS A center expects 658 electorates whilst JHS B is also looking for all 651 voters to come out to vote.

CODEO, on the other hand, has deployed about 1,100 observers who have over the weeks received training across the country to observe tomorrow’s elections. The observers are made up of 800 stationary officers and 300 roaming observers today.

About 48,000 security personnel making up the National Elections Security Task Force has also been deployed to ensure safety at polling stations and collation centers across the country.
