Doctors and Nurses at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital say they can’t be coerced to return to their posts.

They have fled their homes after abandoning declaring a strike last week.

They fear irate Zongo youth who attacked them last week over a missing still-born baby would invade their bungalows too.

Deputy Health Minister, Alfred Sugri Tia, in an interview with XYZ News said that the situation has been stabilized for the doctors and nurses to resume work.

“I am appealing to all the Doctors and Nurses to resume work immediately while this investigation continues.

“Looking at the security arrangements in place I am convinced that such a thing cannot occur again,” Dr. Sugri said.

But the President of the Junior Doctors Association, Dr. Osei Tutu, stated that their security concerns have not been fully addressed, adding that they will only resume work when all their concerns have been addressed.
