We would maximize development in favor of Ghanaians- Veep

Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur at the weekend asked Ghanaians to retain the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in power with the assurance that the government will maximize development in favour of the Ghanaian people.

He said the NDC believed in fairness, equality, and will therefore ensure the fair distribution of national resources and development across all the ten regions of Ghana.

Addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of Mankessim in the Central Region, the Vice President and running mate of President John Dramani Mahama, flag bearer of the NDC, in the forthcoming December elections, said the NDC would continue with the unprecedented development programmes started by the late President John Mills.

According to the Vice President, the NDC would continue with the development of infrastructure, economic progress, peace and stability which were the vision of the late President Mills.

Mr. Amissah-Arthur, 61, an Economist and immediate past governor of the Bank of Ghana and former Economics lecturer at University of Ghana, spoke of the NDC vision of education and development and pledged to use his experience in Finance, Economics and Academia to the benefit to the entirety of Ghanaians.

Accompanied by wife Matilda, the running mate was given a rousing welcome by party fans and supporters when he arrived at the Mankessim lorry park to address the chiefs and people.

Other speakers at the function were Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Deputy Minister of Local Government, Mr. Aquinas Quansah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Mfantseman West, and Mr. Abeiku Crentsil, NDC parliamentary candidate for Mfantseman East.

They urged the people to avoid the propagandist messages of opponents of the NDC, and consider the numerous projects that have been completed within the three and half year reign of the NDC and vote it back to power in December.

The Vice President will be addressing similar durbars in Anomabo, Moree, and Cape Coast.
