Webster University Ghana has re-affirmed its commitment to use its Accra campus as a hub to attract students from the rest of Africa.

The University’s decision for Ghana to host a campus was due to the country’s political leadership, peaceful and sound economic environment as well as democratic values.

Mrs Christa E. Sanders, Director of the University, said this at the University’s open house event to interact and build synergies with the public about its bachelor and master degree programmes in Ghana.

She explained that the University is an American institution established in 1915 in St Louis Missouri with wide range of campuses, including metropolitan, military, on-line and American style campuses in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Mrs Sanders said Webster University is a pioneer in international education serving 22,000 students and could boast of an impressive network of more than 155,000 alumni worldwide.

She said the mission of the University is to ensure high quality learning experiences that transform students for global citizenship and individual excellence and its vision is to be a premier US based international university setting a distinct standard for global education.

“The University offers high quality American education, small, interactive classes and an array of student life activities which provides student with a well-rounded university experience,” she added.

Mrs Sanders said the University had recruited the best in faculty and staff, including those with years of experience with Webster University from various countries for its Ghana campus.

Mr Ken Wichert, Director of Enrolment Management at Webster University-Ghana, said the University focuses on individual needs of students and prospective students and not just the numbers.

He said the University offers three course modules at the undergraduate level and two at the graduate level.

Mr Wichert explained that the undergraduate courses are Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Management, BA in Media Communications and BA in International Relations while the graduate courses are Master of Business Administration and Master of Arts in International Relations.

He said the current batch of students were admitted in January 2014 and urged them to apply for its next programmes starting in January and August 2015.
