The government has declared Wednesday, July 6 as a statutory public holiday.

The day will celebrate this year’s Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan.

Ramadan is a period when Muslims in the world observe 30 days of fasting.

A statement on Wednesday, June 29 and signed by the Minister of Interior, Prosper Bani, confirmed the holiday.

It comes less than a week after the nation marks Republic Day on Friday, July 1.
