The Founder and leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Mr Percival Kofi Akpaloo has revealed that he will not only legalize marijuana otherwise known as wee as President, he will ensure that it becomes the cash cow of the country to develop major areas lagging behind.

Speaking to Nana Yaa Boapomsem on Homebase TV monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the former Presidential candidate observed that there are a lot of products derived from marijuana unknown to Ghanaians.

“Vote for Kofi Akpaloo as President for 2020 and when you do that, trust me we will turn Ghana around and Ghana will be a better place for everybody because we are going to legalize marijuana”.

He is of the view that the legalization of marijuana will be an avenue to create more jobs to absorb the teeming unemployed youth of the country and also boost the private sector.

“When we legalize wee, it would create a lot of employment for Ghanaians. It is for industrial purpose. Coca Cola is made from wee, this glass is made from wee, this phone cover is produced from wee, the wee seeds is used to produced wee, you have to conduct a lot of research”, he told the host.

But the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) has warned celebrities and Radio Presenters pressing for the legalization of marijuana through the media to desist from the act else they’ll be dealt with according to law.

“The so-called celebrities who come to sit on radio/TV calling for the legalization should be warned. We’ll start cracking the whip in that direction,” NACOB PRO, Nana Osei Nkwantabisa warned.

Referencing, Section 55 of PNDCL 236, Nana Nkwantabisa said the law is explicitly clear on the illegality of narcotic drugs and speaks against the promotion, usage, possession, and others without the express permission of the Minister of Health.
