Former Volta River Authority Chief Executive Officer, Dr Charles Wereko-Brobby, appears not to be in the good books of leading members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the party he claims to have a strong affinity for, following his latest assertion that the leadership of the party is to be blamed for the defeat in the 2012 general elections.
Several NPP bigwigs including the General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, and his predecessor Nana Ohene Ntow have downplayed Dr. Wereko Brobbey’s claim.
The latest to wade into the fray is ex-Member of Parliament (MP) for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa constituency in the Central Region, Mr. Paul Collins Appiah-Ofori.
The outspoken NPP activist has warned all media outlets not to dream of ever calling him to offer his view on “senseless” talks that emanate from “nonentities” like Dr. Wereko Brobby.
Mr. Paul Collins Appiah-Ofori’s comments come on the heels of a statement which was issued by Dr. Wereko-Brobby on Thursday, titled, “On the face of the pink sheets or at the heart of the matter,” in which he berated the petitioners in the ongoing presidential election petition for using Dr Mahamudu Bawumia whom he described as a “clueless witness,” to prosecute their case.
However, speaking on Okay FM, P.C Appiah-Ofori stated that he feels belittled when media houses constantly call him to respond to statements from “human beings with no brains like Dr. Wereko Brobby”.
He rated him as a “foolish man” who knows he is at war with members of the New Patriotic Party and would do everything to join the NDC.
“He knows when NPP comes to power, he would be sidelined, and I believe he wants favour from President Mahama…he is a foolish man and I don’t want media houses to call me to comment on what he says”, Mr. Paul Collins Appiah-Ofori said.
