The Chiefs and Imams honoured Dr Bawumia with a citation
Leadership of the Zongo Community in the Western Region has acknowledged what they describe as Dr Bawumia's benevolence towards humanity, and his quest for inclusive development.
The vice president and flagbearer of the NPP, had a fruitful engagement with Imams and Zongo Chiefs Wednesday evening, as part of his campaign tour of the Western Region.
At the meeting, the Imams and Zongo Chiefs commended Dr. Bawumia for what he has been doing privately to help many people, as well as his development initiatives as vice president.
The Chiefs and Imams, in appreciation of Dr. Bawumia's benevolence, and to also encourage him, honoured him with a citation.
"The Regional Chief Imam, the Regional Zongo Chiefs and the entire Muslim Umma in the Western Region duly recognise and appreciate your benevolence towards humanity and development," the citation read.
Dr. Bawumia has intervened several times to support individuals and groups in distress, without publicity.
His gestures are often publicised by beneficiaries who share the news publicly to express their appreciation.
Earlier this week news emerged that he quietly assisted a patient in urgent need of surgery abroad.
