The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, was not so enthused with the media attention she was getting during her first public appearance after her defeat in the 2024 parliamentary election.
When she arrived, some media persons tried interacting with the Ablekuma West legislator, who is also the Minister of Communication and Digitalisation, as she was was headed to the enterance of the makeshift floor of Parliament at the Dome of the Accra International Conference Center on Monday, December 16, 2024, but the MP did not entertain them.
A video of the incident showed the MP expressing her displeasure at visuals of her being taken as she go out of her vehicle.
With an expression of disapproval, Ursula asked the people taking visuals of her arrival, “What is going on?”
One of the people is then heard saying, “Mommy, we miss you.”
The MP then smiled and proceeded to walk towards the entrance of the floor.
The communications minister, who has represented the Ablekuma West Constituency since its creation in 2012, lost the 2024 election to Rev Kweku Addo of the National Democratic Congress.
The clergyman won the parliamentary election with 31,866 votes, with the incumbent MP polling 26,575 votes.
