Reverend Isaac Owusu-Bempah, founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, has clarified recent rumours that he, along with some top pastors in the country have ganged up to destroy the presidential bid of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The pastors allegedly involved in this plot include Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder of Action Chapel International, and Rev. Dr. Stephen Wengam, the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Ghana.

According to the rumours, Owusu-Bempah and these pastors have vowed to thwart Bawumia's dream of becoming president due to Bawumia's neglect of Owusu-Bempah, a well-known predictor of prophecies in favour of the NPP.

Owusu-Bempah explained that, according to the rumours, Bawumia has abandoned him for Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, the founder, and overseer of Power Chapel International, who also serves as the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral and as a result, Owusu-Bempah holds animosity toward both the pastor and Bawumia.

However, speaking in an interview on Okay FM on September 10, 2024, he clarified that he has had no such meeting or pastoral gang with anybody to destroy Bawumia's bid.

He also added that he holds no animosity against Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, and neither had he accused him of taking his shine in the NPP.

"Yesterday, I heard about it and some of my children shared the footage with me. It was discussed on a certain radio station that myself, Archbishop Duncan-Williams, and Rev. Wengam, the General Overseer of Assemblies of God, among other pastors, have met to plan against Bawumia.

“When I heard it, I was very surprised because we hadn’t done such a thing. Rev. Wengam, I have heard his name but I haven’t even seen him before, and neither have I met him with the archbishop. They even said Mahama was part of the meeting, but we haven’t met before.

"The person claims to have audio stating that I have said I hate Victor Kusi Boateng because he has taken my shine and as a result, I won’t agree for the Vice President to become president. I don’t envy Victor Kusi Boateng,” he said.

"Chairman Wontumi has called me, saying he heard someone say this on his station, Wontumi TV, so they will invite me to resolve the issue. But God is my witness, it is never true that we have plotted such a thing or met to discuss any issues."

"I am very pained that something I haven’t done or thought about is being spread around. The person spreading such rumours, if asked to prove it, cannot. Even Rev. Wengam, the head of Assemblies of God, I don’t even know him," Owusu-Bempah added.
