Ace sports journalist Dan Kwaku Yeboah has criticized the Ghana Football Association over the alleged use of black magic during Ghana’s game against Sudan on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Speaking on Okay FM, Kwaku Yeboah wondered why a country of Ghana’s caliber would resort to juju in a game against a less-fancied opponent like Sudan.

“It is disgraceful that a country like Ghana would resort to juju in a game against Sudan. If juju worked in football, countries like India and Benin would be winning the World Cup. How can you be putting garlic and onions on a pitch in the 21st century?” he said.

Kwaku Yeboah has also called on the government and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to pay particular attention to the national teams, as the teams have now become marketing tools for senior members of the GFA.

He noted that while the Black Stars were being battered by Sudan, Kurt Okraku, the President of the FA, was in Germany with the national U-20 team for a friendly match.

“The bigger picture is that we need to get the FA to sit up because the FA is using the national team to do business. While the game was ongoing in Libya, Kurt Okraku was in Germany with the Black Satellites. He was in Germany with the team, and we conceded five goals. They are not interested in the result; they are only interested in selling their players,” he said on Okay FM.

The Black Stars suffered a 2-0 defeat to Sudan at the Martyrs of February Stadium in Libya on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Ahmed Hamed Mahmoud Mohammed and Yousif Yagoub scored the two goals for Sudan to defeat the Black Stars.

Owing to the results, the Black Stars are now third in the group with just two points, while Sudan is second with seven points.

Group leaders Angola have qualified with two matches to spare, having amassed twelve points from the first four matches.

The next round of matches will be played in November 2024.
