Evangelist Patricia Asiedua is serving 15 years sentence in jail
The Chief Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Prisons Service, Superintendent Adamu Abdul Latif, has stated that the presidential amnesty granted to some prisoners by President John Dramani Mahama does not apply to Evangelist Patricia Asiedua.
Speaking in a media interview on August 21, 2025, Superintendent Abdul Latif explained that the evangelist, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, is not eligible for the amnesty.

According to him, the list of prisoners recommended by the service for presidential pardon had already been compiled and submitted before Agradaa was convicted and brought to prison.
“We did not forget Agradaa, and she is not among those eligible to benefit from the amnesty. The amnesty list had already been compiled and submitted before Agradaa was sentenced and brought to prison,” he said.
Superintendent Abdul Latif added that first-time offenders should have committed minor offences to qualify for amnesty, which doesn’t also apply to Agradaa due to the seriousness of her crime.
He added that the guidelines also require first-time offenders to have served at least half of their sentence, another condition Agradaa has not met.
As a result, he said she remains ineligible for a pardon and is still in the custody of the Ghana Prisons Service.
“Based on the criteria used for amnesty, she does not qualify, even if she had already been in prison at the time the list was being prepared. She remains in our custody. Although she is a first-time offender and this is her first time in prison, the nature of her offence and the sentence she is serving disqualifies her. She has not yet served even half of her sentence.

“According to the amnesty criteria, a first-time offender must have served at least half of their sentence to be considered, which she has not met. Also, the gravity of her offence further disqualifies her from receiving amnesty,” he explained.
Nana Agradaa, the Founder and Leader of Heaven Way Church, was sentenced to 15 years in prison with hard labour, on charges of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretences.
