A member of the Communication team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Anim Piesie is wondering why the Akufo-Addo led government is now hurriedly constructing roads they have complained about for a very long time now.
He was reacting to reports that government has started the construction of the popular LEKMA hospital road after numerous protests from residents and a campaign in the media.
A report filed by Peace FM's Yaw Obeng Manu confirmed that work has indeed commenced.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Adentan constituency, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has also indicated that contractors have started working on the delipidated roads in his constituency.
Reacting to this on Peace FM morning show 'Kokrokoo', Anim Piesie asked why the ruling government waited for this long before starting work; adding "they have realized that they no longer have time"
"NPP has reduced governance to mere rhetoric . . . everything is going backward . . . why the desperation? Why is Akufo-Addo now in a hurry to construct roads? They have realized that they no longer have time and so they are doing it in a rush. Akufo-Addo should wake up if he is asleep . . ." he said.
