Pastor David Paha, in-charge of the Discovery Temple of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Otamens branch, has disclosed that Houkpe Archill Yaowho, the man arrested for allegedly killing his wife, is not a pastor in the church.

According to him, Archill, 41 and his wife, Madam Rita Kweve, 37 – (now deceased) – were church members in that church headed by him (Pastor Paha).

He made this known to DAILY GUIDE in a statement issued last Thursday, stressing that he is in-charge of the ICGC Temple in that area and not Houkpe Archill Yaowho.

Houkpe Archill is currently in the grips of the Kasoa police for allegedly killing Rita Kweve.

He allegedly committed the act at their Rock City residence on July 25, 2015, after a purported misunderstanding between them, and bolted.

Police report indicated that after the crime Archill took the children to his hometown in Togo and later reported himself to the Amasaman police last Tuesday.

The Kasoa police, who launched a search for him, went for the suspect from the Amasaman police to assist in investigations.

The body of the deceased was discovered in their rented single room apartment by a neighbour at about 7am last Sunday, with blood oozing from the mouth and the nose.

Eyewitness accounts indicated that the suspect had lived with the wife for the past nine years and have two children, even though the customary rites in respect of the marriage had not been performed.

The eyewitness said three months ago, the couple had a misunderstanding and this compelled the woman to pack out of the man’s house to an unknown location, together with the children.

After waiting several months without the wife returning, Houkpe Archill reportedly called Rita on phone and asked her to return home.

Madam Rita then returned to the house on July 25, 2015 and was seen packing her belongings into the room by some neighbours.

On July 26, 2015 around 7am, the neighbour friend who heard of the return of the woman, visited the house but knocked at the door several times without any response.

After knocking several times, the neighbour tried to peep through the window to see if somebody was in the house; but she found Rita still in bed while the door was locked.

After calling her name several times without any response, the friend called other neigbours to the scene.

They also tried to open the door but to no avail and reported the matter to the Kasoa Police.
