Winners of National Junior's Challenge Season 2 to tour Dubai

Organizers of the National Junior's Challenge, UNIWIZ Foundation have disclosed that the winners of the second edition of the competition will have the opportunity of touring Dubai, as part of the winning package.

In addition to the holiday trip to Dubai, each participant of the winning school shall receive a brand new laptop and a Hisense TV set.

Delivering his welcome address at the launch of season of the National Junior's Challenge at the Best Western Hotel, Mr. Wisdom Larry Quarme-Doe called on corporate bodies to support the initiative since it will enhance the cognitive and innovative skills of young Ghanaian children.

"I see this competition as a great opportunity for the children to improve upon their thinking skills and a stepping stone to meet their future aspirations. Let's all come on board to support this initiative", he asserted.

The participating regions for the 2020 edition of the National Juniors Challenge include eighty-one (81) schools from seven regions in Ghana, with the selected regions being Greater Accra, Ashanti Region, Central Region, Volta Region, Eastern Region, Western Region and Northern Region.

According to Quarme-Doe, each participating school shall receive a certificate of participation, branded souvenirs and other packages by sponsors.

The quarter finalists shall receive a certificate of participation, textbooks, branded souvenirs and other packages whereas semi-finalists shall receive a certificate of participation, textbooks, branded NJC bags, souvenirs, other packages by sponsors as well as a cash prize of five hundred Ghana cedis (GHc 500.00).

The second runner-up shall be awarded a sum of one thousand Ghana cedis (GHc 1,000.00) cash, laptop for each participant, a certificate of participation, branded NJC bags and souvenirs and other packages by sponsors.

The first runner-up shall be awarded a sum of two thousand Ghana cedis (GHc 2,000,00) cash, a laptop for each participant, a tour to some major tourist sites, a certificate of participation, branded NJC bags, souvenirs, and other packages from sponsors.

The National Junior's Challenge is a GES recognized educational TV programme that seeks to promote Basic Education through competitive quizzing to unearth talents in the youth.

The contest enhances the analytical and thinking ability of students at the Basic Education level to solve problems and promote interest in acquiring knowledge in Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
