Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is a former vice president
NPP flagbearer aspirant, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged a future of innovation, increased opportunities, and stronger economic foundations if elected President of Ghana.
Speaking to supporters in Ketu South, the former Vice President called for public confidence in his leadership, urging voters to evaluate his track record in government.
In a report by adomonline.com on November 17, 2025, Dr Bawumia highlighted his achievements, noting that a full presidential mandate would allow him to attract more foreign investment and accelerate national development.

“Believe in me. You’ve seen what I accomplished as Vice President. With your full mandate, I will bring more international investment into Ghana,” he said.
He urged Ghanaians to look past current economic challenges and focus on the long-term benefits of forward-thinking policies.
He stressed that national transformation relies on creativity and practical solutions, not just present income levels.
Dr Bawumia also cited his role in advancing Ghana’s digital financial sector.
He pointed to improvements in mobile money interoperability, making transfers across networks and linking bank accounts to mobile wallets possible for the first time.

“But we believed it could be done, and today it is a reality,” he said, noting that the digital reforms have helped expand employment. The number of mobile money agents has risen from about 107,000 to nearly 900,000 under his leadership, creating significant job opportunities.
