The Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Adam Sabo, has opined that Ghanaians will not experience novelty in the governance of the nation, in the unlikely event that the NPP does not come to power.

According to him, as far as innovative ideas for developing the country is concerned, the NPP has always set the pace for other political parties including the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to follow, hence, Ghanaians should give Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo the chance to rule as President.

He mentioned the school feeding programme, the National Health Insurance Scheme, Capitation Grant, Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) as some of the crucial innovative interventions introduced by the NPP to improve the quality of living of Ghanaians.

Speaking on TOP FM’s morning show hosted by Ekourba Gyasi on Friday, Adams Sabo mentioned that the NDC left the University of Ghana the same way it was when they came to meet it but the NPP administration added more infrastructure to it before leaving office.

He said most of the achievements being touted by President John Dramani Mahama were actually started by former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

“Even the NDC claims they built all the Polytechnics in the country, that cannot be true,” he said.

Adding that “they were all technical schools, they [NDC] only changed the names and added a few infrastructure to the already existing ones and now they claim they built it them.”

On the circle interchange in the capital city, Adam Sabo added that the plan for the ongoing Circle interchange was conceived way before President Mahama assumed office and so he cannot boast of it as his achievement.
