A 13-year old head porter locally known as ‘Kakayo’, Aisha has been bitten to death by a trader identified as Maimuna at the Kumasi Central Market.

Some Kakayes narrating the circumstance leading to the incident to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo said on that fateful day Aisha decided to sleep at a place where Maimuna sells her items, the suspect not feeling happy with that confronted the deceased.

The arguments got heated up and resulted in a brawl, before they could be separated, Meimuna had sunk her teeth deep into Aisha’s body leading to her bleeding.

According to them, the deceased was rushed to the hospital for treatment, where the doctor’s diagnosis indicated that she had allegedly been infected with poison.

Aisha was pronounced dead on Tuesday May 29, 2018 at Manhyia Government hospital after her condition worsened.

“When we went to the hospital, the doctor told us, our friend has been infected with poison. This is not the first time Maimuna is doing this. Last year, she bit a certain woman to death and today too her bites have caused our sister’s death. We came here to beat her to death but she is no where to be found,” they fumed.

Out of anger, the deceased’s colleagues ‘Kakayes’ vandalized the place where Maimuna does her business.

Meanwhile, traders at Central Market have threatened a demonstration against the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly on Monday June 4, 2018 if Meimuna is not evicted from the place.

A trader at Central Market Amuno Gyamfua said “Maimuna has on several occasions threatens us with cutlass when there is misunderstanding between herself and any other person.

“The lady (Maimuna) is not normal and we have complained about her several times to KMA and nothing has been done about it. We can’t entertain her anymore, so we are giving KMA from today to Monday to remove her from this place else we will stage a massive demonstration against KMA authorities,” she warned.
