Women Caucus in Parliament in Disarray....

Mon, 11 Nov 2002 Source: GHANAIAN VOICE

….WOMEN AND CHILDREN ISSUES THREATENED

According to the Ghanaian Voice, since the inception of the Third Parliament of the Fourth Republic, the 17 female MPs from both the NPP and the NDC have never met to consider any women or children issues in the House.

The few times the women tried to meet were devoted to issues in relation to who and who holds such and such a position. This has often hit the rocks with each group accusing the other of non – compromises.

The bone of contention is actually about who occupies what position within the caucus when it is formed.
