The Kumasi Circuit Women's Fellowship of the Methodist Church of Ghana commenced its sixth biennial conference at the weekend with a call on women to contribute positively to development.

The Very Reverend Christopher Nyarko Andam in-charge of the Adum Wesley Cathedral of the Church, said women could do that through outreach programmes, civic education, infrastructural development and empowering the youth with the requisite skills and knowledge.

He added that women had since Biblical times been agents of change and instrumental in character formation, community services and peace-building.

Very Reverend Andam noted that in the wake of mass corruption and other evil deeds amongst the people in contemporary times, the society looked up to women of substance to effect the necessary changes for progress.

The three-day conference is being held under the theme: "Witnessing for Christ Today, Mobilizing our Connexional Resources for the Ministry".

It aims at taking stock of the activities of the Fellowship in order to strategize effectively for future development.

Very Reverend Andam charged members of the Fellowship to brainstorm and evolve new plans to enhance the cause of Methodism.

Madam Veronica Boison, President of the Fellowship, said they would use the occasion to pray for the nation and her leadership, as well as vulnerable groups in society.

She advised her colleagues to adhere to the rules and regulations of the Fellowship to engender discipline in their activities.
