Women traditional leaders commend Lordina

The National Association of Women Traditional Leaders has commended Dr Nana Lordina Manama for her immense contribution to humanity especially in the area of healthcare to the less privileged in society.

The Association made the commendation when they paid a courtesy call on the First Lady at her office to congratulate her for assuming the position of President of the Organization of African First Ladies Against HIV/Aids and also for the award of Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humane Letters by Fordham University.

President of the Association; Nana Abena Boatemaa who doubles as the paramount Queen Mother of Odumasi Traditional Area says the First Lady is down to earth and willing to work with anybody whose vision has something to do with improving the lives of Women and children.

The Queen Mother of Bole Traditional Area, Kansawurchie Janie Azara Bukari said the Association has plans to collaborate with the Office of the First Lady to address problems relating to health, education and improving lives of Women in their various regions.

She believes that the collaboration will help the country attain all the MDGs on health.

For her part, the Paramount Queen Mother of the Osudoku Traditional Area, Nana Amponsah Dokua said even though her area is faced with challenges she is hopeful that with the collaboration with the First Lady most of the challenges will be addressed.

Mrs. Lordina Mahama, who was enstooled Sompahemaa of the Nkoranza Traditional area last year by the chiefs and people of the area under the stool name Nana Akosua Fremaa Ampomah Sika I thanked the Queen-Mothers for their visit.

Also at the meeting was the Minister for Fisheries and Aqua Culture, Madam Sherry Ayittey.
