Former Black Stars captain, Dede Ayew
Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has called for the inclusion of Andre Dede Ayew in the Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
According to him, Ayew has the potential to help the current team with his leadership and skills, despite concerns about his age or recent performances.
He noted that Ayew’s displays have been decent and, more importantly, his experience in major tournaments will be crucial in supporting the team.

Speaking on TikTok Live, Shatta Wale emphasised that the presence of both Dede and Jordan Ayew in the squad would be massive.
“Black Stars, let me say something. Do you want to play world bottle or World Cup? Because if it’s bottle, they should organize a tournament for that. Anyways, we have hope. They have to bring Dede Ayew into the World Cup team.
“We beg, it is not by force and we are not pushing you people. We are kneeling down, begging you, put Dede Ayew into the team. Jordan and Dede are like twins, when they are together, they can motivate the team. I am very devastated,” he said.
Andre Ayew currently plays for Dutch side NAC Breda, where he is working hard to regain his best form and make an impact to strengthen his case for a return to the national team.
