Embattled businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome says some of his sympathizers across the country are boycotting the ongoing biometric registration exercise because they are peeved at the State for trying him for fraud.

Mr. Woyome is battling the State in court over the controversial 51 million Ghana cedis judgment debt paid him.

Speaking to XYZ News’ Volta regional correspondent, Emmanuel Atukpa in an exclusive interview, Mr. Woyome stated that the boycott of the exercise by his supporters is a way of protesting against the manner in which he has been treated as far as the judgment debt saga is concerned.

Mr. Woyome has however urged all his sympathizers in the three regions of the North as well as those in the Volta and Ashanti regions not to take the registration exercise for granted.

“I have heard that some people in the Volta region, the three Northern regions and some in the Ashanti region who sympathize with me are not happy with what has happened to me and are refusing to register” Mr Woyome said.

He added that “I want to tell them that I have registered and I think that Chairman Rawlings and the leadership of the party have registered so they must go and register

“They should not by any reason do something that would be harmful against themselves and against the very party they belong to by not going to register, it is a very important exercise”.**
