She said the donation afforded the group the opportunity to visit the home and interact with the children to make them happy. Miss Adjei promised that the group would present items to the Home periodically to enhance the maintenance and care of the children. Rev. Kofi Owusu-Afriyie, Director of the home, thanked the group for the gesture and assured them that the home would use the items judiciously to enhance their living conditions. He disclosed that the Home established in 1996, with three children now has two hundred children made up of street children and orphans. Rev. Owusu-Afriyie said the home has been able to sponsor the education of some of the children to the Universities, Polytechnics, Teacher Training colleges and Vocational Institutes. He appealed to churches, corporate organizations and philanthropists to also come to the aid of the children.
