National organizer and acting general secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has justified why government is being accused of abuse of incumbency saying, the government uses state resources to fund it's campaign through vote buying activities, and the distribution of goodies to voters.

He alleged that for government to use campaign platforms to distribute items to ordinary Ghanaians instead using separate means of doing this, is act of incumbency on part of the NDC administration.

He cited MASLOC as an example and said government is choosing and picking members of the party to donate to them instead allowing every citizen to benefit from the loan scheme.

According to him, the president is aware that what they are doing is wrong yet they are doing so because, they are desperate for power and do not want to lose the race. However, no matter what that desperate NDC government would do, it will lose this year's election, he added.

John Boadu noted that one unfortunate comparison the NDC tries to make is the donation of goodies to electorates on the part of the NPP , which they have termed ''abuse of opposition''.

He said although the NPP as part of it's campaign donate some basic needs to some voters, it cannot be termed as an abuse of opposition because, it does not exist. As an opposition party, we solicit for support from supporters and well wishers and do not use state funds in doing what we do.

He further rubbished claims by the NDC of that they will garner 1 million votes in the Ashanti region.

He described the aim of the NDC as a mirage adding that, the party is only dreaming and it is only for saying seek, to prove to their members that they are working hard.
