The National Democratic Congress Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama, has, in a special address to the security services, the media, and staff of the Electoral Commission, charged them to elect a leader who values their contributions to the country.
According to the former president, the services and roles of these institutions are invaluable and play a significant part in the nation's development and democracy.
Mahama emphasised that these personnel deserve a leader who recognises their importance, prioritises their welfare and living conditions, and fosters an enabling environment that allows them to carry out their duties freely.
“I understand the unique challenges you face daily. You sacrifice your comfort to protect us and work tirelessly to keep our citizens informed. Your dedication, courage and commitment have helped build the foundation of democracy in Ghana and therefore you deserve a leader who recognises and appreciates your contributions.
“As an advocate for the welfare of our security services and a supporter of a free press, I want to assure you that the NDC believes that your voices matter. My administration will prioritise in improving your working conditions, providing adequate resources and strongly supporting your critical roles in society,” Mahama said while addressing special voters on December 1, 2024.
Appealing to the special voters to vote for the NDC, John Dramani Mahama said a vote for him would ensure a safer and more united country.
Security agencies, the media, and staff of the EC will cast their ballots on Monday, December 2, 2024, ahead of the general elections scheduled for December 7, 2024, to elect new leaders in the presidential and parliamentary elections.
