You’re clueless, uninformed monumental disgrace – Hannah Bissiw punches Akufo-Addo

The National Women Organiser of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Hannah-Louisa Bissiw has described the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as clueless, uninformed and a monumental disgrace to Ghana.

Her comment comes on the back of a statement by the President who said Ghanaian women have done little to deserve a place in national decision making.

Dr Hannah Bissiw said the President displayed next-to-no knowledge about the subject which was treated during Women Deliver 2019 Conference in Vancouver, Canada.

Addressing journalists covered by MyNewsGh.com, she said, ‘even when he was prompted by one of his female co-penalists who strenuously sought to correct his preposterous misrepresentations on that platform, he adamantly touted his half- baked Free SHS as a gender empowerment tool of his government and lied about the 30% of his cabinet being female’.

She said the President’s reckless talk have caused irreparable and incalculable damage to the reputation of Ghanaian women.

‘To imagine that the comments reflect the inner thinking of President Akufo-Addo on Ghanaians women is frightening to say the least,’ she fumed.

She further described as disappointing and a colossal embarrassment the opinion by the President to say that 51.2% of women in Ghana have achieved nothing in terms of activism or advocacy to merit a place on the decision making.

She questioned if the President’s wife Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, Chief of Staff Madam Frema Opare Osei and his five daughters didn’t rise to their status by dint of hard work.

The NDC executive said the President is expected to discuss the many women who suffer sexual harassment in their workplaces whilst others have their promotions delayed for unjustifiable and intimidation on such a bigger platform.



She therefore appealed to the President to redeem himself by rendering an unqualified apology to all Ghanaian women folk.
