Member of Parliament for Manhyia South and Vice presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has charged students to actively engage in the upcoming general elections.
Addressing the 58th National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) Annual Residential Congress, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh stressed student leaders must ensure their members are fully aware of the political messages being disseminated.
"You serve as the conscience of NUGS, and by extension a huge constituency of Ghanaian students, and you must be deliberate in figuring out which of the messages on offer inure to their benefit,” he stated.
NAPO stressed the impact of the election's outcome on students' futures saying “these elections are crucial to your interests because its outcome, either way, will affect your future.”
He expressed conviction that the Bawumia/NAPO presidency will offer students the best opportunities to realize their full potentials in the 21st century.
Additionally, NAPO addressed the issue of apathy among young people, particularly Gen Zs, hence emphasized the importance of drawing this critical group into the political and electoral processes.
"This will in turn make their voices heard and help shape the direction of this country."
