Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, the founder and leader of the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Center in Kumasi has said God willing, the wife of the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo will be Ghana’s First Lady.

The controversial man of God made the remarks after the wife of Nana Akufo Addo visited his church in Kumasi as part of her campaign tour of the region.

The prophet said, "I know that if God still works as in the past, it will not be difficult for him to make you Ghana’s First Lady next year…I pray for God’s blessing for the leadership of the NPP. Nothing is impossible for God."

On his part, Chairman of the NPP in the Ashanti region Bernard Antwi Bosiako popularly called Chairman Wontumi called on the prophet to pray for the NPP to win massively in the region. He said, "We have declared 90 percent for Nana Addo in the Ashanti region, and also we want to win all the seats in this region after the polls. We want Nana Addo to win the presidential elections with 57 percent and that is why I have come to you to ask for prayers."

"We have given Nana Addo a target of 90 percent in the Ashanti region. We have never done this before and it is going to be very difficult and that is why we want you pray for us. There are 275 constituencies and we want Nana Addo to garner 57 percent after the results are declared… We want God to grant Nana Addo the wisdom, knowledge and also grant him favour ahead of this year’s election. You are the nation’s prophet and that is why we have come to you." he said.

Nana Addo is contesting the presidential polls for the third time after the 2008 and 2012 elections. His running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has partnered him over the period he had contested the polls. Nana Addo has consistently described the Mahama-led administration as incompetent, and corrupt.

He has admonished Ghanaians to vote out the NDC to save their future. Among the promises made, the NPP if elected will restore in full the scrapped teacher and nursing training allowances, construct 1 factory in each district of the country and also allocate 1 million dollars to each constituency to help alleviate poverty.
