Isaac Donkor and Lucy Addai-Poku joined the delegation at the World Cocoa Foundation Meeting
As the call for the youth to venture into Cocoa Farming continues, many graduates are signing onto Cocoa Farming as a business venture. Two of such enthusiastic Ghanaian graduates who have resorted to cultivating cocoa are making significant contributions to the cocoa economy.
Mr Isaac Donkor and Mrs. Lucy Addai-Poku who were part of a Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) delegation to the just ended World Cocoa Foundation Meeting held in Sao Paulo, Brazil joined panelists from other countries to speak to issues on cocoa sustainability. The two farmers who were sponsored by COCOBOD to the event were full of praise to the Government of Ghana for the implementation of various Productivity Enhancement Programmes by COCOBOD to improve their yields and enhance their incomes. The farmers said that cocoa farming could be more lucrative if the international market offers remunerative prices for their produce.
Mr Isaac Donkor is a cocoa farmer from Asankrangwa in the Western Region of Ghana. He is a Political Science Graduate from the University of Ghana, legon whereas Mrs Lucy Addai-Poku holds a Masters degree from the University of Cape Coast. Her farm is located at Asakraka in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
