Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister Hon Elizabeth Agyemang has assured traders and transport operators who are currently operating at the Kumasi Race Course market that challenges facing them as well as their concerns will soon be addressed to ensure them a peace of mind to do their businesses.
Some traders and transport operators who were operating on the streets and unauthorized places in and around Central Business District (CBD) were ordered by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to evacuate and relocate to the Race Course to pave way for the reconstruction of some roads that enjoins the Kejetia Project, and also as part of preparation towards the final funeral rites for the late Asantehemaa Nana Afia Kobi Ampem Serwaa II, who died last year.
Some traders during and after the relocation had raised several complains about how the process of allocation of lands went.
They also pointed at the unavailability of proper sanitation facilities and poor security at the Race Course especially in the nights.
Addressing traders and transport operators at the Race Course, Hon. Elizabeth Agyemang, popularly known as People's Mother’, called on the traders to restrain calm as their grievances had been heard by the Ashanti Region Coordinating Council (RCC) and KMA, and will soon find solutions to their challenges.
“We have heard your challenges and problems and I can assure you that very soon, we shall fix them all for you" she said.
