All is certainly not well within the Ashanti Regional hierarchy of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) following irreconcilable differences between factions that emerged prior to the regional executives’ contests last year, MyNewsGh.com has gathered.

In view of this, the Suame Constituency Youth Organizer of the party, Koampa Razak Avoliya has stated categorically that the conduct of the Ashanti Regional Chairman Augustus Nana Akwasi and other executives is making the party unpopular in the region and could affect its fortunes in 2020 if nothing is done about the situation

He described the current crop of regional executives of the NDC as incompetent leading disunited front and making little efforts to close ranks.

According to Koampa Razak Avoliya, the NDC regional Chairman Augustus Nana Akwasi is sabotaging the party members including constituency executives who campaigned against him during the party regional elections.

Speaking to MyNewsGh.com, he revealed that majority of the members of the party in the region have regretted voting for the current crop of leaders to envisaging they could be voted out if another regional election was to be held today.

“I was expecting the regional chairman and some of the regional executives who preached unity during the regional elections to bring each and everyone on board. Those who preached unity are now practicing disunity. They recognize only those who campaigned for them and those who didn’t campaign for them are preventing from party activities. Majority of NDC members have regretted for voting for disunity and competent leaders to lead the party. The party has been divided into two groups in the region” he said.

Koampa Razak has charged National Executives of the party and NEC to address the issue and immediately call some regional executives to order.
