Ms Jayathma Wickramanayake, the UN Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth, on Wednesday arrived in Ghana for a day's working visit.
She was welcomed at the Kotoka International Airport by officials of the United Nations Population Fund led by Mr Niyi Ojuolape, the Country Representative, and some youth delegation from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
Ms Wickramanayake was immediately driven to the Canadian High Commission to pay a courtesy call on the High Commissioner.
She would have a lunch meeting with the United Nations Country Team and later pay a courtesy call on the Minister of Youth and Sports and the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
Ms Wickramanayake would be led by the Gender Minister to the Agbogbloshie Market to interact with the Kayayei (head porters).
She would also engage the youth in an open forum at the Alisa Hotel at 1900 hours on their perceptions on health, education, employment, environment and governance.
