Ho, April 4, GNA - Right Reverend Francis Anani Lodonu, Bishop of the Ho Diocese of the Catholic Church has observed that the current inordinate quasi-political youth agitations could disturb the focus of government. He said threats on the lives of political appointees and other forms of vandalism for one reason or the other by youths of the ruling government could entangle President John Evans Atta Mills to falter. Bishop Lodonu was delivering the Easter Sunday sermon to a motley group of worshippers mainly dressed or draped in white at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ho.
He said it was difficult to grasp the point of youths demanding jobs when they did not have the education or the skills for them. Bishop Lodonu observed the levels of corruption and other forms of criminal acts were on the ascendancy despite the growing numbers of Christians.
He stated that if every Christian in Ghana would be guided by the doctrine of Christianity in his or her day-to-day activities, this country would gallop in development. Bishop Lodonu said Easter which symbolizes the betrayal, crucifixion, death and resurrection of Christ should bring spiritual renewal to all. He warned that the growing numbers of children subsisting on the streets was a security threat to the nation. Prayers were said for the sick, vulnerable, travellers, youths and children.
